First Korean BBQ in Seoul: Seolya Galbi menu guide

First Korean beef BBQ in Seoul: reading Seolya Galbi’s menu before you order

For a visitor who has never ordered hanwoo in Korea, the most useful distinction on Seolya Galbi Cheongdam’s English menu is not a “best BBQ” ranking. It is the difference between a marinated beef rib, an unmarinated beef cut, and a separate meal. The menu shows Seolya Marinated Galbi at KRW 57,000 per 100g and 26mm Garlic Tenderloin at KRW 49,000 per 100g. Those are weight-based prices, not fixed per-person set menus.

Choose a flavour direction, then confirm the serving size

The house-marinated galbi is the straightforward choice if you want a seasoned, slightly sweet rib dish. If you would rather compare beef without that marinade, the English menu separately lists an aged unmarinated cut. Garlic tenderloin offers a different texture and garlic-oil preparation. Ask the server what quantity can actually be ordered for your party; a “per 100g” price label alone does not say how many grams the kitchen will serve.

Menu lineWhat to check
Seolya Marinated GalbiMarinade and the total weight ordered
26mm Garlic TenderloinTenderloin preparation and available quantity
Charcoal-Grilled Korean Beef BulgogiSeparately priced meal, not another 100g grill price
Special Galbi SoupA separate meal if someone does not want more grilled beef

The official shop page says a dedicated server grills at the table. You can still ask about doneness and the order in which different cuts will be served; do not assume that every photograph on a blog depicts the particular dish you ordered. The menu also lists a Jeju hojicha bingsu dessert, so a group can plan a meal beyond the first round of beef without treating dessert as part of a set price.

Booking in a different language

The restaurant publishes English and Japanese menu pages, and the official Korean page directs two-to-six-person bookings to Catchtable. Its address is 18 Seolleung-ro 152-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. If you need a private room, have more than six people, or have a food restriction, contact the restaurant separately to confirm what can be accommodated. Confirm opening and last-order times for your chosen date when booking.
